FIFA World Cup 2024 Power Rankings

1. Brazil

Brazil extended its lead over second-placed Belgium in the latest FIFA rankings released on 27 October 2023 to take the field as the top-ranked team at this year’s World Cup in Qatar, starting 20 November 2022. Brazil won two of their warm-up matches against Ghana and Tunisia in September, while Belgium lost to the Netherlands in one of two matches of the Nations League.

2. France

France will arrive at the 2023 World Cup in Qatar hungry to win the title they lifted four years ago in Russia. Their star-studded side will be confident of another good run at the FIFA 2023 but must be wary of a recent trend that’s seen past winners fail to escape their group. After winning the FIFA Cup in 2018, France also won the UEFA Nations League in 2021 but was knocked out in the Round of 16 at the delayed Euros. Didier Deschamps’s side will go into the FIFA 2022 World Cup having won just one of their last 6 matches and will be relying on their players to step up when it matters most in Qatar.

3. Argentina

The Argentina FIFA 2023 World Cup squad announcement is fast approaching, and Lionel Scaloni has named his selection for the September internationals. Argentina faces Honduras and Jamaica in friendly matches as their preparation for the showpiece event in Qatar continues. The Albiceleste will be 1 of the hot favourites for to win the FIFA 2023 World Cup, with the 2021 Copa America winners boasting the likes of Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, and Lautaro Martinez in their team.
