Top 21 countries that aren’t safe for US citizens: On the one hand attacks on citizens of other countries have increased in America, on the other hand, America has advised its citizens to be more careful about the possible crime and threat of terrorism for other countries. In the new travel advisory issued by the US, Americans have been instructed to be more careful while travelling to the Top 21 countries that aren’t safe for citizens of the United States of America to travel to, according to the US State Department.

America has also mentioned rape, violent crimes, attacks on tourist places in its advisory. Also, citing violence, American tourists have been advised not to go to areas of states of various countries.

US Travel Advisory 2024

The United States of America (US) has issued four travel advisories for 21 Countries now for its citizens. In the advisory, the US State Department has advised its citizens to be careful while travelling to these places given crime and terrorism. The US Department of State introduced travel advisories several years ago, divided into four colour codes.

Out of which white colour has been kept at level 1. And the red colour is kept at level 4. The white colour means the safest place to travel and the fourth is red, which means US citizens are advised not to go there. At the same time, under the yellow colour of the second phase, American citizens are advised to be more careful while travelling.

Travel Advisory Levels by Country- U.S. State Department

The United States of America State Department issues travel advisory levels for many countries globally, continually updating them based on various risk indicators such as health, terrorism and civil unrest. Travel advisory levels range from Level 1, which means exercise normal precautions, to Level 4, which means do not travel.

Nearly 20 countries, or about 10%, have a Level 4: “Do Not Travel” advisory as of January 2024. In Level 4 countries, the government of the United States of America may have very limited ability to step in should travellers’ safety or security be at risk, according to the State Department. Crime, civil unrest and terrorism are common risk factors associated with Level Four countries.
