One of the former Billings Cowboys, Trenten Montero, who was also known to be one of the famous bareback riders have passed away. As per the reports, it has been mentioned that the cause of official death has been described to be his rodeo accident injuries. In a recent ride, Montero had suffered a number of serious injuries while riding a horse and this had led to become the reason for his death later on. Now, it has also been reported that due to the serious injuries he had suffered after he was hospitalized, he has passed away on Wednesday.
Trenten Montero, who was also popularly known for holding the 24th position in the PRCA | RAM World Standings with a total of $58,300 as his total earnings for the season, is no more, as reported. As a native of Winnemucca from Nevada, the bareback rider has been a former Billings cowboy too. He had been a qualifier for the 2019’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, which were held between 05th December 2019 and 14th December 2019 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The NFR, or as it is known as the National Finals Rodeo, are one of the premier rodeo events which are organised by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, or the PRCA.

In the tragic news updates which have come from Colorado Springs, the reports have mentioned that the Nevada local and the Winnemucca cowboy Trenten Montero has recently passed away. It has been reported that Montero had passed away on Wednesday after suffering numerous catastrophic injuries on his body. It has also been added that these injuries had been the result of an accident which he had about 20 days before the date of his death. This accident had occurred in a ride in which his horse had rolled on him.
The beloved Winnemucca Nevada cowboy, at the time of his death, was only 31 years old. At 31, he had also been a new parent for about 2 weeks before he took his last breath on Wednesday. The deadly accident which had given Montero several injuries had occurred at the Owyhee County Rodeo, where he was riding on 10th August 2023. It had been about 20 days after the accident during the Aug 10 ride in Homedale, Idaho, when on Wednesday, his injuries took his life. A lot of his friends and other members of community have started to pour in their support for their loving friend, as they help his family to deal with the grief.

Trenten Montero dies in Accident after Serious Injuries
Due to severe injuries which followed the Owyhee County Rodeo’s accident for Trenten Montero, the popular cowboy who qualified for the 2019 Wrangler NFR, it has been reported that these injuries have caused his death on Wednesday. After the accident, the 31 year old bareback rider from Winnemucca, was taken to a nearby hospital, named as Saint Alphonsus Trauma Center in Idaho immediately. These injuries had been sustained by him in his Aug 10 ride, when Montero had just finished at the second position.
This second position had been attained by him in the County Rodeo event, and at this point, his horse which he was riding had fallen and rolled on him instead, as a result. His sad demise had been confirmed in an internet post when his family and friends came together on the social media outlets, and paid their tributes to the beloved bareback rider from Nevada. He had suffered numerous critical injuries after he had walked out of the field. He was then rushed to the neighboring hospital, after it was reported that Montero had difficulties in breathing.
A rodeo journalist Kendra Santos, who was reporting the incident had mentioned that Montero had been receiving treatment at St. Alphonsus Trauma Center in Boise. She posted on Instagram that every member of the rodeo family is urged to pray for the Nevada cowboy, after she also added that he needed every “last positive thought” in the moment. But, as it turned out, the injuries had become fatal as the tragic news of his death had been announced on various social media platforms on 30th August 2023.
Trenten Montero Tragically Dies on August 2024
In the event of his mournful demise, several people posted their tributes on social media for the former Billings Cowboy, Trenten Montero. Many members of the non-profit organisation, called as “Cowboys with a Mission”, have also called Montero as one of the top bareback instructors in their community. Another lifelong friend of Montero, Joe Harper, has said that Trenten was the toughest human he has ever had in his life. Joe, a fellow PRCA rider, also added that Montero had a big heart for everyone around him, and that he was also the first person to help anyone in need.
The recent rodeo accident which occurred after Trenten’s 79 pointers ride on the Macza Pro Rodeo’s Half Crow in Idaho (Homedale), had given him critical injuries. These injuries included Montero to suffer from lacerations in his spleen and pancreas, several fractures in ribs, a damaged aorta and a collapsed lung. Several rodeo community members have prayed for Trenten’s wife, Maria and his infant son, Noah, whose birthdate is 26th July 2023.
